I have no particular reason to blog today other than to vent about the incredible amount of stress in our lives at the moment. Sometimes getting it all off of your chest just makes you feel better. Tomorrow is the official due date of our little angel. Absolutely no signs of impending labor... No contractions, No dilation. He's decided to stay in until spring. It's bad when you actually pray for painful contractions. A friend recently told me, "An apple falls off the tree when it's ripe", so I'm leaning on that for sanity.
On Friday we found out that my mother-in-law has breast cancer. They say its an aggressive type that rapidly spreads. The Surgeon says hopefully they have caught it early, but we won't really know anything until next week when she is scheduled for her mastectomy. Cancer is a word no one wants to hear and this time it has fallen way to close to home. I pray she fights hard and keeps her strength and sanity throughout the upcoming days. Please keep her in your prayers.
People always say, God never puts more on you than you can handle. I believe that with all of my heart. God allows us to go through certain things to humble us, to teach us, to pull us closer to him.
"Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my HOPE comes from HIM, HE alone is my ROCK and my SALVATION; He is my FORTRESS, I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN!" Psalm 62:5
My Likes and Gripes
Welcome to My Blog
I'm a born again believer, blessed with a wonderful husband to share my life with. We are expecting a sweet bundle of joy , that we could not be more excited about. I'm a Nurse by trade, which is very rewarding for the most part. You will learn that I'm very passionate about certain topics and a very opinionated person. I like to gripe about things that I cannot control. I'm very much a Conservative. I created this blog to have a place to vent. To express my "Likes & Gripes".

Christmas Blessing
Tonight I was at work and a patient and their spouse told me that they over heard a patient and their spouse in the next bed talking about only having $30 to their name. This $30 had to do them for travel expenses to get to the hospital that we were transferring the patient to. My heart broke as the couple was telling me what they overheard. They handed me $40 and said, "After we leave will you give it to them? Please don't tell them where it came from, just Merry Christmas". So that's what I did. I gave the couple the money and you would have thought it was a million dollars. They cried with joy. I honestly believe that God puts people at certain places, at certain times for specific reasons. Praise him for that. That $40 was an answer to this sweet family's prayer. I too was blessed. This time of year we sometimes get so caught up in buying the perfect gift for this one or that one, and what to cook to take here and there, that we forget what Christmas is all about. Thank you God for reminding me of that tonight.

4D Ultrasound

I wanted to share some photos of the 4D ultrasound that we had recently. I didn't know at first weather or not we should spurge and have it done, but I'm so glad we did. Our little fellow didn't care much for showing his face at first, but started showing out pretty quick. It's so amazing to see their little arms, legs, fingers, and toes. God is so Good!

Update
Wow. I just realized that I haven't blogged in 3 months. Our life has been so hectic, running here and running there. It seems like I need to pencil in a good day to have our baby. Whats new in our lives... Well I'm now 35 weeks and counting. The bags are packed, bottles are washed, and the nursery is complete. Now we are just waiting for our little man to join us. I hope once he's here, our lives will seem less hectic, but I hardly think that will happen.

Jaxon's First Football

Last Monday night was the Titans first home preseason game. Like always we get there plenty early for my Dad to meander around. He loves to take pictures of the players warming up. I sometimes think he likes this more than the actual game. Either way, we had already made our way to our seats with only about 15min until kick off, and my Dad walked up with a football. An actual Titans game ball. WTC. I almost died. He began telling the story, While he was down close to the field, he started talking to this gentleman who turned out to be Jim Washborn, Defensive Line Coach. The two of them talked about life, politics, and even their grandchildren. Dad told him he was expecting another grandson in January. The two talked for quite a while until Mr. Washborn had to run along. Dad continued to stand there watching the guys. As they were running back into the locker room to prepare for the game, Mr Washborn walked over and handed the football to him and said, "Give this to Jaxon for me". The ball was perfect with grass stains and all. Leave it to my Father to get a official Titans Football. I love it. And I can't wait to tell the story to Jax when he gets big. Thanks Dad. :)

Baby Boy Blues
Yesterday was the big day! The big day to find out the gender of our sweet angel. A friend of mine did an ultrasound a couple of weeks ago and said she thought it was a boy, but we just wanted to hear the doctor say there it is... Boy Parts. Well yesterday at our 19 week check up, he had boy parts a shinning so his daddy's mind was put to ease. No trip to Lowe's for pink paint. But more importantly, we got to see his little heart, brain, kidneys, etc. and everything was perfect. Praise the Lord for he is good.
A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.

Vacation
We're back from our much needed vacation to Panama City Beach. As the date drew closer for us to leave, I was getting a little nervous about the oil. I knew I didn't want or need to be around the oil or the dispersants, but we took a chance and headed down anyways. We arrived last Saturday to beautiful waters. Praise the Lord. I guess I should have listened to Rush Limbaugh. He said the media was blowing the whole thing "outta the water" and I guess he was right. But none the less, we enjoyed a week of beautiful weather & NO OIL. However, we did see the people BP has hired to "look" for the oil. They were walking two by two up and down the beach with jeans, white t-shirts, a fluorescent hat, and rubber gloves. I'm not sure any of the people I seen would have noticed a tar ball if they walked over it. They look to be pretty good at meandering at least. We soaked up the sun, ate at some great places, took a sunset dinner cruise, played putt-putt, did some shopping, and just enjoyed being lazy.
One night after a long day at the beach, the hubby decided we should eat at, Crazy Marlins. Sounded good, looked good from the outside, so we pulled in. I can only have one serving of any kind of fish, seafood one time per week. Nothing just jumped right out to me when I was looking over the menu, which mostly included some sort of seafood. Our waitress was a Hispanic looking girl. When she came to take our order she didn't seem to be very helpful. I ask if I could order half grouper / half chicken basket. Her response was, well you can't do that because the chicken basket is cheaper than the grouper basket. I said, I will just pay for the grouper basket. She says, "Sorry, you will just have to choose one or the other". Well I choose chicken. We enjoyed our meal and I had pushed my plate back. She walked up and looked at me and said, "You look full". WTF!! How do you "Look Full"??? I was furious, now mix that with a litte extra hormones and you got a girl fighting mad. I could have ripped the nappy hair outta her head. I chose my words however, maybe because I'm a nice gal or maybe because I didn't want to go to jail. I said, "You look Mexican, Let's take a look at your green card Missy" as she was walking away from the table. I'm sure she heard every word, and I hope she did. She walked away and I never saw her again. Which I was thankful for. HOW RUDE. How does full look really? None the less she got a big whopping tip of "0 dollars". I hope she spends it all in one place.
Other than that lil deal our vacation was very relaxing and enjoyable. I guess this will be the last vacation for a while for just the "two of us".
